Gamon Sakurai, who wrote and illustrated the Japanese manga series Ajin, made it into a live-action movie called Ajin. Kei Nagai dies in a car accident, but he learns that he is an Ajin, a type of immortal (demi-human). Because Ajin is a monster that people hunt down, the government eventually finds him and uses him as a test animal. On the way, he meets up with other people who aren't humans but are still part of the human family.
