Andrei Rublev
The life of famed Russian icon painter Andrei Rublev is the subject of this sprawling Russian play. Peace-seeking monk moves from place to place throughout a turbulent time, eventually gaining fame for his art. Despite this, Rublev takes a vow of silence after witnessing a terrible struggle and unwittingly being engaged, and he takes time off from his career. To alleviate his tortured soul, he delves back into the world of painting.
