Martin Bristoll, a six-year-old boy from Minersville, Pennsylvania, was taken from his backyard swing in the summer of 1989. As a result, Martin was forced to watch and participate in unimaginable things while being held captive on Graham Sutter's dilapidated pig farm by the deranged recluse Graham Sutter. The screams of his victim, who had been chosen at random, were drowned out by the sounds of the surrounding countryside. Five years had passed without any word on Martin's whereabouts until Allison Miller, then 17 years old, arrives to live with her Uncle Jonathan in a remote location. In the process of getting to know her new surroundings, Allison discovers that something isn't quite right at the farmhouse across the street. Her inquisitiveness causes a hornet's nest of wickedness and despair to be disturbed, and once it is opened, it can never be closed again.
