Millions of European Jews are taken to Nazi concentration camps and murdered during World War II. Norwegian Jews are assured of their safety and protection by the German invasion. Still, anti-Semitism is a global problem, and things are getting much worse in Europe as the conflict continues to spread. One day, all the men over the age of 15 are arrested and brought to prison camps, and the next, their radios are taken away and their passports are marked with a huge J. Many of the wives and mothers waiting for their soldiers to return home are too terrified to go. Hundreds of Jews are rounded up by the police on November 26th, 1942, and taken to the Oslo harbor. Men, women, and children of all ages, as well as the sick and elderly, are herded into the waiting German cargo ship "SS DONAU" despite their lack of knowledge and fear of the unknown. 302 adults, 188 women, and 42 children make up the total number of Norwegian Jews aboard the ship. The ultimate station is Auschwitz.
