He has grand plans to propose to his dream lady at her family's lake cottage, and Roger, a straight-laced politician, is looking forward to it. But things go horribly wrong when Roger meets Todd, his future brother-in-law, who happens to be an overworked camp counselor with a big heart and a wacky sense of humor who secretly wishes to be Roger's best buddy, ultimately leading to a chain of tragic events. As Roger attempts to assert himself in the midst of outlandish fishing excursions, exhilarating water jetpacks, and American history-themed musicals, he finds that being a member of a new family may be more difficult than he had anticipated.
