Brown Paper Bag
Archie Glass is attempting to break into the Hollywood film industry in 1942. His opportunity comes in the form of a job offer: locate a young white movie star before the press reports her missing, and he will be able to pursue his Hollywood dream. The actors who play maids, busboys, and background players in jungle films all leap to the foreground in this dramatic noir about a guy determined to do anything to make his dream come true. Archie hunts Hollywood's dark alleys and finds more falsehoods than truth. He eventually finds the lady he seeks, as well as the harsh reality of being a black man in Hollywood.
