Carrigan Crittenden is furious that her late father only left her his gloomy-looking home rather than his millions, and she is ready to burn the building to the ground until she uncovers a clue to a treasure that has been concealed somewhere in the property. However, when she approaches the crumbling home in order to seek her claim, she is driven out in terror by a malicious wave of ghosts. She is so determined to get her hands on this secret wealth that she engages an afterlife therapist by the name of Dr. James Harvey to rid the mansion of its spectral inhabitants. When Harvey and his daughter Kat move in, Kat quickly becomes friends with Casper, the spirit of a little boy who is known for being "the friendliest ghost you know." However, Casper's uncles, Stretch, Fatso, and Stinkie, are not so nice. They are intent on driving all "fleshies" away from the town.
