Celia
The movie takes place in the middle of the 1950s in Australia, when people were afraid of communism and rabbits had taken over the country's farmlands. It shows a long, hot summer through the eyes and overactive imagination of nine-year-old Celia. Celia's beloved Grandmother's death has left her feeling lost between the cruel games and rituals of childhood and the confusing world of adults. When she sleeps, scary monsters chase her through her dreams. During the day, these nightmares get mixed up with the everyday cruelty of the adult world, which leads to tragic and shocking results.
