Colossus: The Forbin Project
Forbin designed the super-computer that will run America's nuclear defenses. It detects the existence of Guardian, the Soviet counterpart, shortly after turning on. Both computers want to be linked, and after taking precautions to protect data, both agree. If the two are separated, they become a new Supercomputer that threatens the world with nuclear weapons. Colossus begins to outline its ideas for governing the planet. Forbin and the other scientists build an underground technical resistance to Colossus.
