Coyote Lake
Coyote Lake is a reservoir on the Rio Grande. It is near a dangerous drug smuggling route that has become known for cartel violence and mysterious disappearances. There, on the lake, Teresa and her seventeen-year-old daughter Ester run a boarding house where they often drug, rob, and drown drug runners and people traffickers who don't know what's going on. Teresa tells her daughter that the killings are okay because they are getting rid of bad people and saving the stolen money so that they can leave Coyote Lake and start over. But when two cartel gangsters break in and take them as hostages, their dark routine is broken.
