Cheng Zixin (Gao Yuan-Yuan), a Mainlander and financial analyst who moved to Hong Kong with her then-boyfriend Owen (Terence Yin), runs into her ex-boyfriend on the bus. Owen is now married to his pregnant wife, and when she notices him talking to his ex, she becomes alarmed. Cheng rushes off the bus and is nearly run over by a car because he is dazed. Cheng is then saved by a haggard drunk named Fang (Daniel Wu). Meanwhile, CEO Cheung Shen (Louis Koo) sits in a nearby car and observes everything that happens. CEO Cheung Shen is a tomboy who works in the same office building as Cheng Zixin. Cheung Shen soon begins wooing Cheng Zixin by sending her messages through the window of his office building. Fang, the drunken haggard who saved Cheng Zixin's life, runs into Cheng Zixin a few weeks later. The drunk haggard turns out to be a Canadian-born top architect who is dealing with personal issues. They quickly become good friends.
