Fatima
In 1917, a young girl of 10 years old, along with her two younger cousins, are present during multiple apparitions of the Virgin Mary that take place outside of the parish of Fátima, Portugal. During these apparitions, Mary reveals to the children that the only way World War I will be ended is through prayer and suffering, and she tells them that only these two things can bring about the end of the war. Word of the sighting travels throughout the nation, driving religious pilgrims to flock to the place in the hopes of experiencing a miracle. This occurs at the same time that secularist government authorities and Church leaders attempt to coerce the children into retracting their claim.
