A robot is sent to Earth to try to convince people to live in peace. She was supposed to go to MIT, but she ends up in Amman, Jordan, during the Black September riots of 1970. After a bomb goes off, Sullivan, a British journalist, finds her wandering around without any papers. He helps her and lets her stay in his hotel room. But when they get there, she tells him she is a robot sent from another planet to bring peace. He isn't sure if he should believe her story or not, but he likes the way she looks at the world.
