Gloomy Sunday
The thirties in Budapest. For his restaurant, Laszlo has hired pianist András. It is Ilona, a lovely waitress, who encourages both men to fall in love. The melancholy tune of his song "Gloomy Sunday" is first adored, then dreaded since it sets off a chain reaction of suicides. Having German Hans fall for Ilona also throws the delicate equilibrium of the ménage à trois out of whack.
