Guest Artist
Joseph Harris, a legendary but troubled writer, visits a small Michigan town during the Christmas season to stage his latest play. Greeting the cynical New Yorker is a young, aspiring writer who dares his literary idol to become the figure he craves. Harris has no desire to be associated with Michigan or its small-town theater, and he has no desire to be the young man's hero. Harris immediately plans to return to New York on the next train out. Desperate to keep him in town, the young man must confront his idol and explore the tangled interplay between youth's dreams and the wisdom of age.
