A journey to Paladiki Island, Greece, completely changes the life of Jorg Geissner, a German banker. He was there on business to check on a project dubbed "Galapagos in Greece" by the islanders, for which his bank had granted a loan and credit. He wants to examine extensively as a German, but Panos, the owner of a mini-mart, and the mayor try everything they can to destroy him—to hide a less-than-ideal situation. Jorg's journey grows elongated, like The Odyssey's, after every trial comes to naught due to the islanders' secret manipulation, causing him to reconsider his priorities and obligations in life.
