Kid Horus from an unknown Scandinavian/Eastern European Iron Age society finds the Sword of the Sun and learns from his dying father that he must return to his native territory. In the process, he saves a hamlet from Grunwald, a warlord/ice demon, and encounters Hilda, a mysterious lonely girl who sings haunting songs (and who hides a terrible secret).
