New York, Albany The year was 1938, and it was Halloween. Francis Phelan and Helen Archer have returned to their hometown as bums. He was a major league pitcher, and she was a radio singer. He digs graves at the cemetery and visits the grave of his young son whom he abandoned; memories of his past torment him, including the ghosts of two men he killed. Helen tries to perform at a pub that night while out drinking. Fran pays a visit to his wife and children the next day and meets a grandson. He considers staying, but ultimately decides it is not for him. Helen retrieves their belongings from storage and locates a hotel. The video highlights their principle of fairness and loyalty throughout their faults and failures.
