Kingsglaive is the name of an elite military unit that is under the command of King Regis of Lucis. They struggle to defend Lucis with the magic that was passed down from their king. King Regis is confronted with an impossible ultimatum as the overwhelming military force of the empire closes in on him: either marry his son, Prince Noctis, to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae, who is a hostage of Niflheim, or surrender his territories to Niflheim authority. Even though the king has conceded, it is now abundantly evident that the empire would stop at nothing to achieve the nefarious aims they have set for themselves, and the Kingsglaive is the only thing that stands between them and complete dominance of the world.
