Little Voice or LV becomes a veritable recluse following the passing of her father, never venturing outside and hardly uttering a word. She does nothing but sit in her bedroom and listen to her father's collection of old albums featuring Shirley Bassey, Marilyn Monroe, and other great female vocalists. But at night, LV imitates these famous singers with astonishing precision. One evening, she is overheard by a talent agent who is one of her mother's boyfriends. He succeeds in persuading her that her talent is exceptional and arranges for her to sing at a local nightclub, but complications emerge.
