By day, Margaret works as a recognized English instructor at a Japanese flight attendant academy. By night, she may be found navigating the dazzling maze that is Tokyo. Drinking to remember to forget and losing herself in love hotel encounters with men who satisfy a fleeting craving are two ways that Margaret loses herself while searching for meaning in her life with other ex-pats in a dive bar in Japan. Margaret's life has little direction, so she searches for meaning with other ex-pats. As a result of Margaret's unexpected encounter with Kazu, a dashing Yakuza, she finds herself falling in love with him, despite the fact that their possibilities of being together are hampered by both tradition and risk.
