Kusomoto, a female test pilot with a stellar record, At the first public showing of the MADOX, an improved personal combat tank, Elle publicly humiliates Lt. Kilgore, a macho tank driver. Kilgore swears vengeance, and he gets his chance when the army loses the prototype fairly carelessly in Tokyo. Sujimoto Kouji, an engineering student, discovers the MADOX but doesn't take the time to read the handbook in its entirety, so he finds himself whizzing around Tokyo in a machine he doesn't fully understand. Who has the task of tracking down and stopping the now-fugitive MADOX? Kouji, you poor, unfortunate soul. He and his girlfriend are done if he is late for their date. What he's wearing right now gives new meaning to the phrase "overdressed." Even worse, Kilgore plans on making him "the late Kouji!"
