During the Iron Age, a shadow hovered over a desolate settlement. For decades, village youths have been kidnapped from their families and offered as sacrifice to a mythical beast known as the Minotaur, who resides beneath a vast palace. Theo, haunted by the death of his love in a previous sacrifice, is sure that the beast is not real and that his daughter is still imprisoned within the palace as a slave. Cyrnan, his father and village chief, attempts to convince Theo not to leave, but Theo is driven by blind hatred. He devises a strategy and is dragged screaming from his family with the other youths.
