Christina Masters, the manager of McDougal's flagship department store, is determined to secure the post of manager for the company's upcoming Paris site. By designing the most spectacular holiday display in the history of McDougal's, she hopes to win over Victoria, the store's proprietor. Christina turns to a recently fired store employee who also happens to be a skilled artist and single father to his young boy when she runs out of ideas, despite Victoria's assurances that she will find inspiration elsewhere. The commercial relationship becomes personal as they work side-by-side, and she finds herself falling in love as a result of their working together.
