In NEDs (Non Educated Delinquents), we follow the passage of a young man from prize-winning schoolboy to knife-carrying teenager. Trying to live up to the poor expectations of those around him, John McGill transforms from victim to avenging angel, academic to NED, altar boy to glue junkie, among other things. The fact that his current world and recent past make conformity nearly impossible, and violent self-determination nearly inevitable, makes him revert to his previous state.
