Sam always seems to make the wrong choice. He's a convicted computer hacker who is single, jaded, and unable to access the internet. Forced to sleep on his brother's couch, he survives by working at the local Twistee Treat and stealing mail while disguised as a postal worker. Then, all of a sudden, a single pink envelope changes everything. The tender missive, handwritten by a heartbroken Josie to her late husband and fallen Marine, awakens something in Sam. Desperate to be worthy of such love, he plots to meet the lovely, young war widow, hoping to grow into a better man. She warms to the idea of a new chance at love as the two get closer, but not before Sam's past shows up in the form of an FBI agent looking for missing bitcoins.
