Kaya (Udita Goswami) is a young girl living in the beautifully serene valley of Spiti, waiting to join a Buddhist monastery, an idea that her father (Mohan Agashe) has fed to her her entire life and one that she has never questioned. When Lama Norbu, the monastery's senior lama, dreams that the Buddhist teacher, the Rinpoche, has been reborn as a young child, he dispatches Kaya to Delhi on a mission to bring him back to the monastery.
