Peepli Live
Natha a bad farmer from Peepli town in the heart of country India is about to lose his story of land as a result of an unpaid bank loan. A quick fix to the problem is the a government program that assists the family members of indebted farmers that have devoted self-destruction. As a means of survival Farmer Natha can pick to die. His sibling is happy to push him in the direction of this one-of-a-kind 'honour' yet Natha is reluctant. Regional elections are nearby and also what may have been an additional unnoticed event becomes a 'cause celebre' with everyone desiring a piece of the action. Political bigwigs, upper-level bureaucrats, neighborhood henchmen as well as the ever-zealous media descend upon drowsy Peepli to bet their claim. The concern on everyone's lips - "Will he or Won't he?" As the mania escalates, nobody appears to care just how Natha actually feels.
