Portrait of a Beauty
Yoon-jeong, who is seven years old, was born into a family of well-known court painters. She is a talented painter. Women aren't allowed to be professional painters, so the pressure is on her brother to carry on the proud family tradition. Yoon-jeong helps her brother out by painting for him while he trains to take his place in court. When her brother kills himself, everything changes for the little girl. To keep the family's reputation, she has to take her brother's name and live as a man. Kim Hong-do falls in love with Yun-bok because of how smart and talented he is. But the royal institute says that her bold depictions of women are obscene. Yun-bok meets Kang-mu and quickly falls in love with her. For the first time, she wants to give up everything she has worked for and just be a woman in front of the man she loves. Kang-moo also gives up everything for his love.
