A seasoned US Marshal is ambushed while tracking a murderous gang of outlaws along the US's southern border. The Marshal is left for dead until he is saved by a lost Navajo boy with whom he forms an unlikely friendship. It takes all of the Marshal's survival skills to keep them both safe as they return the young boy to Navajo country in Monument Valley.
