After his first wife's death, wealthy Raja Aditya Pratap Singh remarries another woman, simply known as Chhoti Rani, who later becomes mentally unstable. Badi Rani, his father's former mistress, controls the wealth, and he himself has a mistress. Unable to obtain contracts through Mantri Prabhu Tiwari, he decides to run for office, while his opponent, Ghenda Singh, hires an assassin, Babalu, who is also the nephew of Chhoti Rani's chauffeur, Sunder, to kill Aditya. Sunder recommends Babalu to Aditya after he is unable to drive due to an injury. Babalu settles into his new job and tries to fit in with everyone, including Chhoti Rani, whom he finds attractive. He soon discovers that she, too, has feelings for him and begins making plans to not only complete his assigned task but also to become the next Saheb.
