Saving Mother Robot
Taipei, Taiwan, late December 2012. The city is experiencing an exceptional winter heatwave, with temperatures reaching the low 30s in many parts of the city. Tsui Yi (Vivian Hsu),36, is a divorced mother of an eight-year-old boy named Tiger (Antoine). Cao Yi is struggling to make ends meet with her profession as a magazine editor and limited alimony payments from her ex-husband (Tang Kuo-chung). A hyper-active imagination causes Tiger to perceive his mother as a run-down robot in need of a new model. Tiger is not particularly bright at school and his art instructor (Mini Yang) is concerned about the dark pictures he creates in class.
