Shakedown
Jack Early (Howard Duff) is a photographer in "Shakedown" who will stop at nothing to reach the pinnacle of success. He lands a position with a prominent newspaper because to his determination, and it's not long before he's making a reputation for himself by charming a notorious crime lord, Nick Palmer (Brian Donlevy), into allowing himself to be photographed. Early chooses to bite the hand that feeds him, pitting Palmer against another mafia boss, Colton (Lawrence Tierney). He blackmails Colton into giving him with a consistent salary while secretly sidling up to Palmer's wife and romancing the paper's picture editor.
