Shrek the Musical
Shrek The Musical is a musical written and directed by David Lindsay-Abaire, with music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. It is based on the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek from 2001 and William Steig's Shrek! from 1990. It received eight Tony Award nominations, including one for Best Musical. Amazon.com announced on July19,2013, that the videotaped performance would be available for instant streaming on September17,2013, following the conclusion of the national tour and West End shows. On the same day, the film was released on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download. The show is a mash-up of various live performances as well as a performance without an audience. The original principal cast, as well as various alumni from the show's Broadway run, make appearances. It also keeps "Donkey Pot Pie" instead of "Forever."
