After marrying the King, the Evil Queen stages a violent coup in which she murders him and kidnaps his daughter, Snow White. Almost a decade later, an adult Snow White remains in the Queen's grasp. In order to achieve immortality, The Evil Queen requires Snow White's heart. After Snow leaves the castle, the Queen dispatches the Huntsman to the Dark Forest to find her.
