France in 1940. The lovely Lucile Angellier is confined to her mother-in-house law's during the early days of the occupation while she and her husband wait for word on her husband, a POW. In addition to the influx of Parisian refugees, a German regiment begins to live among the peasants, taking up residence in their own homes.
