A group of artists called the Lamorna Group, which was made up of Alfred Munnings and Laura and Harold Knight, was very popular at the beginning of the 20th century. One of the most popular artists in Britain is now an anti-Modernist named Munnings. Florence Carter-Wood, a young artist, and Gilbert Evans, the land agent in charge of the Lamorna Valley estate, are in a love triangle.
