Melanie Daniels, a stylish socialite, has a brief fling with an appealing attorney while shopping for pets in San Francisco. On a whim, she decides to accompany him to his hometown carrying a gift of lovebirds. However, as soon as she arrives, the birds go completely crazy. Suddenly, the citizens of Bodega Bay are confronted with a major avian invasion, in which the feathered demons are attacking people for no apparent reason all around the city.
