Vera Parks, an overbearing and demanding Broadway director, is sacked from yet another job, forcing her to take a position directing a tiny town Christmas pageant in upstate New York. Vera attempts to pull out of the production, stunned at how simple it is, but is persuaded by some of the locals to give their community a chance.
