Mark Sway, a street-smart boy, witnesses the suicide of Jerome Clifford, a prominent lawyer in Louisiana, whose current client is Barry "The Blade" Muldano, a Mafia hit man. Clifford was representing Muldano at the time of his death. Before Jerome pulls the trigger on himself, he reveals to Mark the whereabouts of the Senator who was recently killed. After Clifford commits suicide by shooting himself, Mark is discovered at the site, and the FBI and the Mafia swiftly come to the conclusion that Mark most likely knows more than he is letting on.
