The Swedish engineer S. A. Andrée wants to be the first person to walk on the north pole. His plan is to use a hydrogen balloon to go on a polar expedition with two of his friends, so they can see the world from the sky. The "Eagle" balloon takes off from Svalbard in 1897, but the three men are never heard from again.
