Sir Robert Beaumont is late on a railroad project in Africa. Beaumont expects results from the well-known engineer John Henry Patterson, whom he hires to fix the ship. Everything seems fine until the crew finds the foreman's body, which looks like it was killed by a lion. After a few more attacks, Patterson calls the famous hunter Charles Remington.
