The Purple Plain
After losing his bride in a Luftwaffe air raid, bomber pilot Forrester transforms into a lone killer who is unconcerned with his own demise. The remainder of his unit in World War II Burma admires and fears the wild Canadian pilot. The squadron physician is tasked with determining the unfitness for service of the disgruntled Bill Forrester. To penetrate the nightmare-haunted man's wall of silence, the physician transports Forrester to an outpost of English-speaking refugees, which includes an intriguing young Burmese woman.
