The Elder boys go back to Clearwater, Texas, to attend the funeral of their mother. John the oldest is a well-known gunfighter, and trouble always seems to find him. The boys try to get their father's ranch back from the town's gunsmith, who won it from him in a card game. Their father was killed soon after, but not before the boys have to deal with the problems that come with the Elders name.
