The Watsons Go to Birmingham

The Watsons, a close-knit family, live in Flint, Michigan during the summer of 1963. When 15-year-old Byron's shenanigans get out of control, his parents decide that the family requires a dose of Grandma Sands' no-nonsense attitude in Birmingham, Alabama. As a result, the Watsons board their 1948 Plymouth Brown Bomber and make their way south. When they get in Birmingham, they meet Grandma Sands and her companion, Mr. Robert, and realize that life is very different than it is in Flint. Throughout that historic summer, the Watsons become embroiled in something much larger than Byron's pranks; something that will forever alter their lives and country.
