War and Peace
The film is a seven-hour adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's novel of the same name. Two major storylines are intricately interwoven and interconnected. For example, Count Pierre Bezukhov, who is dissatisfied in his marriage, and Countess Natasha Rostova have a love tale. An further example is the "Great Patriotic War" of 1812, which was fought against the invading Napoleonic Armies. The people of Russia, representing all social strata, stand united in the face of the adversary.
