Shizuku has a simple life that is characterized by her passion for storytelling and writing. One day, she notices that the same individual has checked out all of her library books: 'Seiji Amasawa.' Shizuku encounters a boy her age who she considers irritating, but to her surprise, he is her 'Prince of Books.' As she gets to know him more, she realizes that he only read all those books to get closer to her. Seiji, a little child who desires to be a violin maker in Italy, is the catalyst for Shizuku's realization that she lacks direction in her life. Knowing that writing is her strong suit, she puts her abilities to the test by penning a story about Baron, Seiji's grandfather's cat figurine.
