Yentl
Rebbe Mendel is a single father who teaches the Talmud, an ancient Jewish literature, to his town's boys. He also trains his daughter, Yentl, behind closed doors, despite the fact that girls are not allowed to read holy scripture. Desperate to learn more about her beliefs after her father dies, Yentl disguises herself as a boy, enrolls in religious school, and surprisingly finds love.
