Amen
Amen is an American television sitcom that was first shown on NBC on September27, 1986 and ran until May11,1991. The show was produced by Carson Productions and aired in the United States. It was part of a wave of successful sitcoms on NBC in the 1980s that featured mostly or almost-entirely black casts, and it was set in Sherman Hemsley's real-life hometown of Philadelphia. Amen starred Hemsley as the deacon of a church and takes place in Philadelphia. Among the others were shows like "The Cosby Show," "A Different World," and "227."
