Behind Closed Doors is an American drama series set during the Cold War and hosted by Bruce Gordon, who plays Commander Matson. The series, which aired on NBC from October2,1958, to April9,1959, explores how the former Soviet Union obtained American missile secrets and recommends ways to prevent future espionage, among other topics. Rear Admiral Ellis M. Zacharias, who delivers comments at the end of each segment, provided the basis for Behind Closed Doors. Behind Closed Doors, a Screen Gems production, took over for Jackie Cooper's sitcom The People's Choice, followed Twenty-One on NBC, and preceded The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show. The Pat Boone Chevy Show on ABC and Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater western anthology series on CBS were among its competitors.
